AXELLE RED REPLACES JANE BIRKIN - Miles Davis Hall - July 8

With her mane of red hair, singer Axelle Red
no longer needs
 introducing.
Since the 90s the Belgian artist has repeatedly
released hits like
 “Sensualité”,
“Elle danse seule” and “Je t’attends”.
In 1999 she received the “Victoire de la Musique”,
 France’s highest honour for music,
with her album “Toujours moi”.
In 2003 she again won the Victoire,
this time for France’s song of the year with a track
she sang with Renaud. In 2011,
she surprised fans with her seventh opus
 “Un coeur comme le mien”
echoing the Americana sound while also blending Country,
Folk and Soul. The record’s 13 tracks were
 written by Gérard Manset,
 Ben Mazuet, Christophe Miossec,
Florent Marchet and Stéphane Eicher who composed
militant songs tailored to the singer.
Socially involved for many years,
Red has been Ambassador for the rights of women
 and children at UNICEF
Belgium since 2006 and was awarded France’s
“Chevalier de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres”
medal for contribution to the arts.
Axelle Red – a beautiful woman and involved artist
 – will appear for the first time on stage at the
Montreux Jazz Festival.
